This Privacy Policy explains how Visamundi ("we", "us", or "our") collects, uses, and protects your information when you use our travel email scanning service. By using Visamundi, you agree to the practices described in this policy.
1. Information We Collect
Google Account Information
When you sign in with Google, we receive your name, email address, and profile picture from your Google account. This information is used to create and manage your Visamundi account.
Gmail Data
If you grant Gmail access, we scan your inbox for travel-related emails — including flight confirmations, hotel bookings, car rentals, and train reservations. We read the content of these emails only to extract trip details such as destination, travel dates, and booking confirmation numbers. We do not read, store, or process any other emails.
OAuth Tokens
To enable automated email scanning, we securely store OAuth access and refresh tokens provided by Google. These tokens allow us to access your Gmail on your behalf, and are encrypted at rest.
Usage Data
We store your scan preferences (scan frequency, enabled/disabled status), scan history, and extracted trip data including destinations, travel dates, and confirmation numbers.
2. How We Use Your Information
- To detect and display your travel bookings
- To provide personalized visa requirement information based on your nationality and destinations
- To send automated scan alerts and notifications about upcoming visa requirements
- To manage your account and preferences
We do not use your Gmail data for advertising purposes. We do not allow humans to read your email content. Our use of information received from Google APIs adheres to the Google API Services User Data Policy, including the Limited Use requirements.
3. Data Sharing and Disclosure
We do not sell, rent, or share your personal information with third parties for marketing purposes. We share data only in the following limited circumstances:
- Supabase: Our database and authentication provider. Your data is stored securely in Supabase infrastructure.
- Google: We interact with Google OAuth and Gmail APIs to authenticate you and access your travel emails. Google's use of this data is governed by Google's Privacy Policy.
- Legal requirements: We may disclose your information if required by law or to protect our rights and the safety of our users.
4. Data Retention
We retain your account data and extracted trip information for as long as your account is active. OAuth tokens are stored only while you have Gmail scanning enabled and are deleted when you revoke Gmail access. You may request deletion of all your data at any time by contacting us.
5. Your Rights and Controls
- Disconnect Gmail: You can revoke Gmail access at any time from your account settings. This deletes your stored OAuth tokens and stops automatic scanning.
- Delete your data: You can request complete deletion of your account and all associated data by contacting us at privacy@visamundi.co.
- Access your data: You can view your extracted trips and settings at any time within the app.
- Revoke Google permissions: You can also revoke access directly from your Google account permissions page.
6. Security
We take reasonable measures to protect your information, including encrypted storage of OAuth tokens, row-level security on our database, and secure HTTPS connections. However, no method of transmission over the internet is 100% secure.
7. Changes to This Policy
We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. We will notify you of significant changes by updating the "Last updated" date at the top of this page. Continued use of Visamundi after changes constitutes acceptance of the updated policy.
